Andrew Delamater 9/9/18 update

Good morning,

I'm Andrew Delamater. I grew up in this church.

Some of you know some of my story. Some of you don't.

I'm not going to get into it now. But I was in the wilderness for 12 years as believer.

There's a lot of things I've learned and would like to say but this isn't the setting to get into that.

I always wanted know God more closely and to serve God in some way but dealt with a lot of brokenness for many years.

I reached a broken point in my life of deeper surrender and God began to bring me healing and understanding into my past.

During this time, I was thinking about this verse.

Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

And I was thinking what really matters? It's about God's kingdom. And out of this a desire awoke in my heart to do street evangelism.

I started evangelizing weekly with a friend. And later with Street Level Ministries.

I went on a short term missions trip with Twin Ports Outreach in association with Ravens Ministries to New Orleans, Louisiana during Mardi Gras.

I graduated an 8 week intensive program called Messenger Bootcamp and participated in Love Twin Cities, a 10 day outreach of 24/7 prayer, worship and evangelism.

There have been many times I wanted to go evangelize but couldn't find anyone to go with me so I'd go by myself.

Now over this time God began to call me to missions. I was at a Christian conference in worship and I felt the tangible presence of God. He told me “You are called to the nations.” God has continued to speak to me this way in my personal prayer time. I was in a revival meeting and I felt the presence of God very strongly as he said “You will go to the trenches of hell and you will get them out.” The call has been clarified and strengthened over time. I knew I have to go to YWAM, I just have to do this.

Now YWAM costs a lot of money to someone like me.

I worked at the US Bank Stadium doing security but wasn't getting enough hours.

I started working with a friend doing roofing and some siding but work dried up for the winter.

Then I found a job at Chick Fil A and I was only getting 30 hours a week.

Then I got an email from Trugreen saying we saw your resume on Indeed and we think you'd be a great fit for being a Lawncare Specialist.

I worked 50 hours a week with 2 and a half hour commute for a few months.

All that to say, I saved enough money to pay the DTS tuition of $3250.

But I need to raise support for the Outreach cost.

The outreach Cost, airfare, housing, transportation, food is $2000--$4500 depending on where we go.

We will decide together within the 1st four weeks of the DTS which country we are going to.

The DTS training phase is September 30th through February 28th.

The outreach phase will be January 4th through late February(roughly 2 months)

I need your support for the outreach and airfare costs which could range anywhere from $2000-$4500.

I know I'm supposed to go to YWAM. I am going to continue to pursue the call to missions after that. I don't know what the next step is but I am trusting God for that. I'm going on faith.

I want to be a full time missionary longterm.

Matthew 16:24-25

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”
